Ripping Layers
Ripping Layers
I employ a technique of layering sheets of paper, almost like binding a book, and then tearing them to reveal the images and evolution of each drawing. It’s physical but also metaphorical. A way of representing my own layers of emotions and changes. I believe we are formed by layers and we are in a constant movement and evolving. For me, there is always a next page or something new to learn about myself and others around me. I have learned a lot about myself and I can appreciate it when I rip my own layers to look back and now to enjoy the beauty of change.
